1. Controller
The party responsible for data processing on this website is:
Radical Life Studios, Robert Langer Ernst-Kirchner-Strasse 1 73760 Ostfildern Germany
Email: robert.langer@radicallifestudios.de Phone: +49 711 67389872
A data protection officer is not required by law and has therefore not been appointed.
This policy applies to the websites operated by Radical Life Studios, including radicallifestudios.com, radicallifestudios.de and the MTB Report country domains.
2. General information
This policy explains which personal data we process when you visit this website, for what purpose and on what legal basis. Personal data means any information that can be used to identify you.
We process data on the following legal bases:
- Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent): for anything you actively agree to in the consent banner, in particular statistics and advertising.
- Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract): to run prize draws and handle enquiries.
- Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest): for the secure technical operation of the website.
In addition, storing information on your device and accessing information already stored there is governed by Section 25 TDDDG (the German implementation of the ePrivacy Directive). Where consent is required for this, we obtain it through the consent banner.
3. Your rights
You have the right at any time to:
- access the data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16 GDPR)
- request erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- request restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20 GDPR)
- object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR)
- withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR)
An informal email to robert.langer@radicallifestudios.de is enough for any of these.
You can change or withdraw your consent choices at any time by reopening the privacy and cookie settings on this website.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The competent authority for us is:
Der Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg Lautenschlagerstrasse 20, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany www.baden-wuerttemberg.datenschutz.de
4. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by:
Alfahosting GmbH, Ankerstrasse 3b, 06108 Halle (Saale), Germany
The servers are located in Germany. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the provider.
Each time a page is accessed, the server automatically collects data transmitted by your browser and stores it in log files:
- the page requested, plus date and time of access
- volume of data transferred and confirmation of successful retrieval
- browser type and version, operating system
- referrer URL, meaning the page you visited before
- IP address
This data is technically necessary to deliver the website, ensure stability and security, and investigate attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. This data is not combined with other sources. Log files are deleted after 30 days at the latest.
5. Cookies and consent
This website uses cookies and similar technologies. Cookies are small text files stored by your browser.
Consent tool
To obtain and manage your consent we use Google’s consent management solution („Privacy and messaging“ from Google AdSense), provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
On your first visit, a dialogue appears where you can accept or decline processing. Your choice is stored in your browser so the dialogue does not reappear on every visit. The legal basis for operating the consent tool is our legal obligation to obtain consent under Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR.
The tool operates under the Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF) of IAB Europe. Your choice is stored in what is known as a consent string and passed on to the participating advertising partners. You can view the full list of these partners under „Manage options“ in the dialogue and adjust your choices individually there.
You can change or withdraw your decision at any time via the privacy and cookie settings link in the site footer.
Categories
Strictly necessary cookies are required for the site to function, for example to remember your cookie choice or keep you logged in. These are set without consent on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR in conjunction with Section 25(2) TDDDG.
All other cookies, in particular those used for statistics and advertising, are only set once you have given your consent. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with Section 25(1) TDDDG.
You can also manage, block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some features of the website may then no longer work fully.
The cookies used include:
| Cookie | Purpose | Storage period |
|---|---|---|
| FCCDCF / FCNEC | stores your choice in the Google consent tool | up to 13 months |
| wordpress_test_cookie | checks whether your browser accepts cookies | session |
| comment_author_* | remembers your name and email when commenting | 1 year |
| _ga, ga* | Google Analytics, distinguishes visitors | up to 2 years |
| Google AdSense cookies | ad delivery and measurement | up to 2 years |
6. Google Site Kit
This website uses the Google Site Kit plugin provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Site Kit is not a tracking service in itself. It bundles the integration of several Google services. The services connected through Site Kit on this website are Google Analytics, Google AdSense and Google Search Console. Each is described separately below.
7. Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited.
Google Analytics uses cookies and similar identifiers to analyse how the website is used. The data collected includes pages viewed, time spent, approximate location, device and browser used, and how you arrived at the site. Your IP address is shortened by Google and not stored permanently.
Google Analytics is only used with your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG. You can withdraw that consent at any time in the cookie settings.
Data may also be transferred to Google servers in the United States. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which means an adequacy decision by the European Commission applies. A data processing agreement is in place with Google.
Usage data is retained in Google Analytics for 14 months.
More information: https://policies.google.com/privacy
You can also block collection entirely using Google’s browser add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
8. Google AdSense
Advertising on this website is delivered through Google AdSense, a service of Google Ireland Limited.
AdSense uses cookies and web beacons to serve ads, measure their performance and tailor advertising to your interests. This involves processing your IP address, the pages you view and your interactions with ads. Google may combine this data with information from other sources and acts as an independent controller in that respect.
AdSense is also only activated after you give consent, on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG.
Separately from this, you can switch off personalised advertising in your Google ad settings: https://adssettings.google.com
Google’s advertising information: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
9. Google Search Console
Google Search Console is connected through Site Kit. It provides aggregated data on the search terms through which this website appears in Google Search. These reports do not contain personal data and no cookies are set on your device for this purpose.
10. Affiliate links and partner programmes
This website contains affiliate links, meaning advertising links to products and providers. If you make a purchase through such a link, we receive a commission. This does not cost you anything extra. Links of this kind are marked as advertising.
So that an order can be attributed, the relevant partner programme sets a cookie or uses a comparable identifier when you click an advertising link. The data typically processed includes an anonymised click identifier, the time of the click, the referring page and details of any purchase made.
The programmes we use include:
- Awin AG, Eichhornstrasse 3, 10785 Berlin, Germany. Privacy information: https://www.awin.com/gb/legal
- Insta360 (Arashi Vision Inc.), Shenzhen, China. Clicking an Insta360 advertising link may transfer data to a recipient outside the EU. There is no adequacy decision for China, so the level of protection may be lower than within the EU.
Affiliate tracking is only activated after you give consent, on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG.
11. Comment function
When you leave a comment on this website, we store the comment text, the name you provide, the email address you provide, any website you enter, your IP address and a timestamp.
The IP address and timestamp are stored to protect us in the event of unlawful content and to detect spam. The legal basis for the comment itself is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; for storing the IP address and timestamp it is our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Comments remain stored until the content they relate to is deleted or you request their removal. Your name and comment text are publicly visible, your email address is not.
Gravatar: An anonymised hash may be generated from your email address and sent to the Gravatar service operated by Automattic Inc., San Francisco, USA, to check whether you have a profile picture stored there. If you use Gravatar, that picture is displayed next to your comment. Automattic is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Privacy policy: https://automattic.com/privacy/
12. Embedded third-party content
This website embeds content from other providers, such as videos, podcast players and social media posts. When you open a page containing such content, your browser connects to that provider’s servers. At minimum your IP address is transmitted. The provider may set cookies and analyse your behaviour. If you are logged in to that provider, the visit may be linked to your account.
Embedded providers include:
- YouTube, Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Videos are embedded in enhanced privacy mode (youtube-nocookie.com) wherever possible. https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Spotify, Spotify AB, Regeringsgatan 19, 111 53 Stockholm, Sweden. https://www.spotify.com/legal/privacy-policy/
- Instagram, Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, Ireland. https://privacycenter.instagram.com/policy
Content that is not technically necessary is embedded on the basis of your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG.
Implementation note: the Google consent tool controls advertising and analytics but does not automatically block embedded content from YouTube, Instagram or Spotify. Without a two-click solution, these load as soon as the page opens. Either add one or adjust this paragraph to reflect the actual setup.
13. Links to our social media profiles
This website links to our profiles on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Xiaohongshu. These are plain links, not active social plugins. No data is transmitted to these networks simply by visiting our website.
Data is only transferred once you click one of these links and arrive on the relevant platform. From that point their privacy policy applies and we have no influence over the processing that takes place there. This applies in particular to:
- TikTok Technology Limited, Dublin, Ireland
- Xiaohongshu (Xingin Information Technology), Shanghai, China. Opening this profile transfers data to a recipient in China. There is no adequacy decision by the European Commission for China.
14. Android app download
This website offers an Android application as an installation file (APK) for download.
The information in section 4 on server log files applies to the download itself. No registration takes place and no accounts are created.
The app displays the content of this website. The information in this privacy policy applies accordingly. No device data is collected beyond what is described here for the website. The app is not distributed through the Google Play Store.
Implementation note: if the app later adds push notifications, registration or its own analytics, this section needs to be expanded.
15. Prize draws
To enter prize draws on our YouTube channel, you post a public comment under the relevant video. These comments are processed by YouTube and Google’s privacy policy applies to them. We do not collect any additional data at this stage.
Only if you win do we collect your name and shipping address, solely to deliver the prize. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. If a sponsor handles the shipping, we pass this data to the sponsor for that purpose and inform the winner beforehand.
Once the prize has been delivered and any statutory retention periods have expired, the data is deleted. It is never used for marketing purposes.
Full terms and conditions: https://radicallifestudios.de/gewinnspiel/
16. Contact by email and phone
This website has no contact form. If you contact us by email or phone, we process the information you provide in order to deal with your enquiry.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry relates to entering into or performing a contract, and otherwise our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Enquiries are deleted once they have been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply. Business correspondence is subject to commercial and tax retention periods of up to ten years under German law.
17. Transfers to third countries
Some of the services described above may process data outside the European Union.
For providers in the United States that are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, the European Commission has confirmed an adequate level of data protection. This applies to Google and Automattic, among others.
For transfers to China, for example in connection with Insta360 or Xiaohongshu, no adequacy decision exists. It cannot be ruled out that authorities there may access data, or that enforcing your rights may be more difficult. Such transfers only take place with your explicit consent under Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR, or through your own action in clicking the relevant link.
18. Retention periods
Unless a specific period is stated above, personal data is deleted once the purpose of processing no longer applies and no statutory retention obligations remain.
19. SSL encryption
This website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise this by the „https://“ prefix in your browser’s address bar. Data you send to us is therefore protected in transit.
20. Changes to this privacy policy
We update this policy when the legal situation changes or when the services used on this website change. The version published here is the one that applies.
